Get your hands dirty
Meet your potter
I’m Dyllan, the potter and instructor here at our studio on Tamborine Mountain. I’ve spent the past 15 years as a teacher, beginning in music before finding my way to pottery. The shift to clay felt natural—both are forms of expression, a way to slow down, focus, and create something meaningful with your hands. Teaching pottery is a deeply rewarding experience for me.
My approach is calm and supportive, focused on helping you find your rhythm and feel at ease with the process. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, the studio is a place to step away from daily distractions, embrace the moment, and enjoy the simple act of creation. In our classes, we’ll take things one step at a time, from centering the clay to shaping your piece.
There’s no rush—just a quiet space to explore your creativity and make something that reflects your own journey. I look forward to welcoming you to the studio and sharing my passion for pottery with you.
Warmly, Dyllan

Wheel throwing is a pottery technique where a potter uses a spinning wheel to shape clay into functional or decorative pieces. As the wheel spins, the potter uses their hands and tools to form and refine the shape of the clay. This method requires a blend of technical skill and patience, offering a meditative and creative experience. It’s a wonderful way to engage with the ancient art of pottery and create unique, handcrafted items.

Yes, our classes are BYO (Bring Your Own). Feel free to bring along your favourite beverage or snack to enjoy during your session. We also offer a large selection of non-alcoholic beverages on site for your convenience.
Additionally, there's a wonderful café next door, Bean n Brunch, which can deliver coffee directly to you during your class. It’s all part of creating a relaxed and enjoyable pottery experience. Just remember to keep any items you bring safe and considerate of others in the class.

We provide aprons for all our students, but please be aware that if you're wheel throwing, you will most likely get some clay on your clothes. Don’t worry—clay stains come out in the wash. We recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit of clay on.
-
No, you don’t need to bring anything except yourself. We provide all necessary materials and equipment for your pottery session. If you’re bringing your own food or drink, please note that we have still water available on site.
