Experience the creation of one extra large bowl, plate or dish using Keane's ‘Dark Matter’ clay body. This incredible material starts as a warm brown on the wheel and transforms into a striking black piece adorned with captivating white speckles after firing.
Guided by our expert instructors, you'll master techniques to shape and refine your creation, unlocking the secrets of bringing your vision to life in clay.
Now you're probably wondering, what is a Buddha bowl? As the story goes, the Buddha woke up before dawn every morning and carried his bowl through the roads or paths wherever he was staying. Local people would place food in the bowl as an exchange for his wise wisdom, advice, and mind. At the end of his walks, he would eat whatever he had been given.
You might also find most Buddha bowls are being brought out to your tables in cafes and restaurants. It is typically a fine line between a Buddha bowl and a large walled plate. So, if this is your type of ceramic vessel you want to forge with your hands, then come and join us in this class to create your very own Buddha bowl.
