Make a Chattered Ramen & Miso Bowl Pottery Class - Gift Voucher
Our ‘Making’ classes are more specified to teach exactly how to make specific wheel thrown items.
SESSION ONE: This course was designed to allow the new potter to focus on creating functional bowls, more specifically Ramen Bowls.
If we have enough time we explore the technique chattering. Chattering creates a very unique texture over the clay. Techniques and methods will be shared and discussed and put into practice if time allows for this step.
SESSION TWO: The vessels created will then be glazed by you on your own day of choosing within 4-6 weeks after your first class.
We offer a large range of imported glazes for you to select from with this class we highly recommend our Shino range of glazes.
Shino glazes are very playful among pottery that has been chattered or contains texture. Shino glazes can range in colour from milky white to orange, sometimes with charcoal grey spotting, known as 'carbon trap' which is the trapping of carbon in the glaze during the firing process.
